REIKI COURSES
Reiki is practised and taught in many different ways. Some teachings are more faithful to the system that was first taught in the West in the 1970s; some teachings are based on what was taught by Reiki’s founder, Mikao Usui, in Japan in the 1920s, some teachings are more "New Age".
In the West, Reiki is practised very much as a form of complementary medicine, where practitioners give Reiki ‘treatments’, though with Reiki it is primarily about treating oneself.
In Reiki we follow a simple set of ‘rules to live by’ that were set down by Usui. The system does not follow any religious beliefs, it is neutral and all about moving into a state of energetic balance on all levels, making changes for the betterment of our lives and those around us. It is about self and spiritual development.
To be successful with Reiki involves committing time on a regular basis to invest in yourself working with the energy and you can experience real positive changes cumulatively over time through working on yourself.
Reiki is taught at 3 Levels:
Level 1 - First Degree - Shoden
Level 2 - Second Degree - Okuden
Level 3 - Master/Teacher - Shipinden
Some people learn First Degree and stop there, though most go onto Second Degree. It's up to you and how much time you are prepared to invest.
